MonitorGO® Personal Alarms: Features at a Glance
MonitorGO® is a personal alarm device for older people who want to maintain their independence by having a ‘safety net’ should they need help. It’s not like any other personal alarm device you’ve seen before; a standard personal alarm device’s only real function is to enable you to call for help. MonitorGO® has no less than 9 key features: Alarm Raising; Fall Detection; Unconsciousness Alert; GPS Location Finding; False Alarm Prevention; Waterproof; Fully Mobile; Mobile Phone Functionality and access to the Medvivo 24/7 Help Line. MonitorGO’s features include:
If ever you need help, just press one button to switch on your MonitorGO®, then press the ‘Help’ button. Choose who you want to call – it doesn’t have to be the help line – you can call your carer, or a neighbour, or a family member – you can store up to 30 contacts on the device – but if everyone is out, the call centre is also there for you, 24 hours a day.
Falls can happen inside the home, in the garden, or wherever you may be. If you do have a fall, you may be unconscious or just unable to activate the alarm yourself. MonitorGO®
can detect that fall and raise the alarm for you, even if you are unconscious. It will ask how you are, and if you are unable to respond it will connect to the Medvivo 24/7 Help Line so help is always at hand. Texts and emails will go to your carers or family members.
It’s possible to become unconscious while in a chair. Or to have a ‘soft fall’ which does not trigger the fall detector. That’s why we’ve developed the unconsciousness alert as an extra safety feature. It recognises if you have not moved at all for 25 minutes (this period can be adjusted in the client area if required), and it will then ask if you are OK. And if you are not OK, it will raise the alarm for you – calling the Medvivo 24/7 Help Line. At night, when the phone is charging, the unconsciousness alert switches off so you don’t need to worry about night time alerts!
GPS Location Finding
MonitorGO can help find where you are. If you have fallen or pressed the Help button, MonitorGO® will use GPS to show your carer or the help line just where you are so they can get help to the right place. And if sometimes you leave your home and become lost, MonitorGO® will use GPS to find your location so your family or carer will know where you are. MonitorGO® is designed to bring you and your family peace of mind.
Medvivo 24/7 Help Line
As well as helping you to call your family members or carers, MonitorGO®
can also include access to a 24 hour emergency help line – provided by telehealth experts, Medvivo
. There is always someone on the other end of the line to help you, no matter what time of day or night you need them. If the fall detection or unconsciousness alert have been triggered Medvivo’s highly trained staff are the first point of contact. You can depend upon them to be there for you.
False Alarm Prevention
Wearers of old-fashioned personal alarms worry about triggering false alarms. To stop these false alarms we have added a ‘failsafe’ to MonitorGO®. If an alert is detected, the device will talk to you first for 5 minutes to check if you are OK before it sends out any calls. If you have raised the alarm by accident, or were simply testing it, you can easily cancel the alarm call and no further action will be taken.
One of the key areas of concern is taking a bath or a shower as this can make you more vulnerable to falls and slips. MonitorGO®
is fully waterproof, thanks to its IP67 certified water-resistant design which does not require it to be placed in any kind of protective cover.This means that you can take it into the bath or shower with you.
MonitorGO® does not restrict you to a land line within your own home. It works wherever there is a mobile signal, so you can find help if you are in the garden, at the supermarket or visiting a friend. You can choose who to contact. Sometimes you may want to speak to a carer or to a family member, and not to a help line. Or you might just want to call for a taxi. MonitorGO® gives you that flexibility.
Mobile Phone Functionality
is a sophisticated personal alarm system, but remember that MonitorGO®
is also a mobile phone. We’ve disabled all the features that are unnecessary and difficult to use, but we have kept the most important thing – being able to make and receive phone calls. You can use it at any time to chat to your friends or the grandchildren – you can store up to 3 emergency contacts and another 30 general contacts on the device – and they can call you.
We provide you with UNLIMITED CALLS TO UK LANDLINES (numbers starting with 01, 02 or 13) and 250 minutes per month to UK mobiles.
