MonitorGO® Ethical Vision
MonitorGO® Ltd was set up with an ethical purpose in mind and we want that ethical purpose to infuse all that we do.
Our purpose is to provide a service which will enhance people’s lives. We seek to strengthen the independence and confidence of those who wear a MonitorGO® device. We seek to bring reassurance and peace of mind to their families and their carers.
We are not a charity, nor are we a non-profit organisation. We see ourselves as social entrepreneurs.
The pendant market in the UK has remained static for the last 30 years, and we believe that it is no coincidence that this market is dominated by the charity and non-profit sectors. We believe that, as social entrepreneurs, our innovation can bring benefit to people’s lives.
We believe that making a profit is an indicator of whether we are being useful to the community. The important question is what we do with our profit. We intend to allocate 5% of our UK after tax profit to Kiva:
- Kiva – http://www.kiva.org/about – works with microfinance institutions on five continents to provide loans to people without access to traditional banking systems. Kiva envisions a world where all people – even in the most remote areas of the globe – hold the power to create opportunity for themselves and others. Kiva believes that providing safe, affordable access to capital to those in need helps people create better lives for themselves and their families. We share Kiva’s vision and seek to support it.
As an employer we support the Living Wage Foundation – http://www.livingwage.org.uk/
We will provide an annual report each year on how we have met our corporate social responsibilities and this will be published on our website.
We are members of both the Telecare Services Association (TSA) and the UK Telehealthcare Group (UKTHC); industry bodies who work to maintain high standards in telehealth and telecare.
